John J. Karsten Memorial Fund

John’s parents set up the John J. Karsten Memorial Endowment to allow his spirit of faithfulness and service as a “prayer warrior” to live on in the Platteville parishes. Specifically, this fund is used to assist people with disabilities and their families.
John J. Karsten, a 4th degree Knight of Columbus, passed away February of 2016 at the age of 32 from heart failure after living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy since the age of 5. The only thing John received by mouth for ten years was a tiny crumb of the Holy Eucharist each week.
